Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Darren Beckett started playing the drums at the age of 4 when his father gave him his first pair of drumsticks. After winning the prestigious Bass Ireland Arts Award as a teenager, he left the Emerald Isle to study Jazz at The New School in NYC, where he still resides. He has toured the world, playing everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the Royal Albert Hall.
Born in England 1955, Benn Clatworthy grew up in London. Active in the London music scene during the 1970's, he moved to Los Angeles in 1980 where he studied Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet with Phil Sobel. In addition to his work as a solo artist, Benn leads a quartet and also the band System 6. He has appeared on many albums over the span of a 43 year career.
John Donaldson won the piano category at the British Jazz Awards in 2006. He has appeared on numerous recordings under his own name and others. He currently co-leads a new sextet called ‘Hexagonal’ playing original music as well as new arrangements of the music of Bheki Mseleku and McCoy Tyner.
Nominated in 2016 and 2017 for a British Jazz Award, Simon Thorpe is one of Britain's best-known jazz bass players. In addition to recording and touring withartists like Stacey Kent, Bobby Wellins and Alan Barnes, he has alsowritten music for films, for the theatre and for BBC TV.
