BT7 1DH ------------------------------------------------- Hardy Bucks Ruggedly charming, extremely funny riding close to the wind. Hardy Bucks is a power house of brutish human power. Come and see Mayo's laziest hunks live in action. County Mayo's own Hardy Bucks was created by childhood friends and total, utter piss takers Martin Maloney and Chris Tordoff for Tordoff’s college project in 2007. Filmed on a Sony mini DV cam and armed with the power of observational wit, Maloney whipped up a batch of characters and became Eddie Durkan, a man living life like a bear with its head stuck in a bee hive. Recounting failed ambitions and his dreams for the future, he was set against the backdrop of the bustling Rural towns of East Mayo before the devastating financial crash of 2008. Small Irish towns populations were once again decimated by unemployment and emigration. Hardy Bucks was instantly set to become a cult classic chronicling the decay of the Celtic tiger. Dissecting the lives of a socially marginalised, group of friends living in the fictional hamlet of Castletown. Owen Colgan and Mikey Salmon joined the cast as well as Tordoff. Creating Buzz, Salmon and the Viper Higgins. Later that year (2008) the first run of webisodes was filmed for YouTube drafting the talents of Peter Cassidy and Tom Kilgallon, as French Toast and the Boo. Martin Maloney It’s been a wild ride of ups and downs. Crude, lofty, self-deprecating introspection, coupled with rowdy philosophies. Such misadventures are not for the faint of heart.
